Interim Finance Manager

Islington

£500 per day (umbrella)

Full Time Contract (3 Months)

Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Interim Finance Manager in Islington. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.

The job:

  • To provide interim cover for vacant Finance Manager post covering Schools Finance and all aspects of Dedicated Schools Grant including High Needs/SEND budget monitoring & projections, Early Years funding & modelling, schools in deficit
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure best use of limited financial resources, providing the strategic financial advice, insight, intelligence and support needed.
  • Proactively identify trends and changes in the operating environment (e.g., legislation, technology, policy, etc.) that could financially impact service delivery; provide advice and collaborate on potential solutions
  • Prepare and present complex and diverse informative, high-quality reports to members and other senior stakeholders that inform service and corporate consequence action decision making
  • Provide support for the medium-term financial planning process.

The candidate:

  • Full member of CCAB (preferably CIPFA), CIMA, CFA, or ACT with significant post qualification experience
  • Must have Local Authority experience at finance manager or equivalent level
  • Must have business partnering experience
  • Schools finance/DSG/children's services experience is highly desirable
