Finance Manager
Morgan Hunt are working with a College based in South East London who are looking at recruiting a Finance Manager. This is a 6 month contract role paying up to £28 p/hour. This will be based 5 days p/week in the office.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets in collaboration with department heads. Ensure budget alignment with the college's financial goals and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior leadership, providing in-depth analysis and insights to support data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee the finances for ongoing and new projects, including capital expenditures, grants, and funding applications. Assess the viability of projects and ensure alignment with the college's strategic goals.
- Analyse budget performance, identify variances, and work with department managers to implement corrective measures where needed.
- Serve as the primary finance contact for non-financial managers, providing training, guidance, and insights to facilitate effective decision-making.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Manager:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience in a finance manager role, within the education sector.
- Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Sage, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
