Interim Head of Finance | Hyper-Growth SaaS Start-Up | 3 Month Contract

Harmonic's delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with one of the UK's fastest scaling technology company to find an Interim Head of Finance for a 3-6 month contract with potential of becoming permanent.

The Client

Our client operates a SaaS platform with a significant buy-and-build element, providing capital and strategic support to help software businesses scale quickly within a shared cloud ecosystem. They focus on empowering innovative B2B SaaS companies with resources and tools like modern business applications, data analytics, and AI.

The venture is poised to become one of Europe's SaaS leaders, having surged to a £20m ARR within six months and secured over $50m in funding, primarily through strategic debt. You will be working with an exciting leadership team with a track record in scaling some of the world's most renowned and successful scale-up businesses.

The Role

This is a first finance hire, reporting directly into the founders, therefore you will be tasked with building the finance function from the ground up. As well as the 'insourcing' of finance, you will be focussing on consolidations, adding rigour to controls processes, as well as building out FP&A capabilities across the company to ensure insightful MI and accurate tracking of financial performance.

With global expansion on the horizon, it's crucial to have experience working with international entities. You'll be focussing on creating standard reporting formats, overseeing consolidation, and implementing budgeting and forecasting processes.Duties

  • Build and scale the in-house finance team and infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Oversee the shift from outsourced accounting to an in-house function, ensuring smooth integration.
  • Design standard financial reporting formats and implement robust internal controls and policies.
  • Manage the consolidation of financial data for the different subsidiary businesses.
  • Develop and lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs like ARR, Churn and revenue unification to support strategic growth.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management and financial liquidity for operations and growth.
  • Managing the banking relationships and covenants.

What we need to see (Essential experience):

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience working in a start-up/high-growth environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience within B2B SaaS environment.

What we would like to see (Bonus experience):

  • International Group Consolidation experience
  • Experience of setting up finance processes in a start-up/high growth environment
  • Debt financing experience
  • Big-4 trained
