Internal Audit Manager - Financial Risk (12 month FTC)

MERJE is partnering with a leading UK-based life insurance company to recruit an experienced Internal Audit Manager specialising in Financial Risk.

This 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) offers up to £95k, a bonus up to 32%, plus other excellent benefits.

Location:

The role can be based from their London, Edinburgh or Birmingham offices.

Please note: Hybrid working is available with minimum 2 days per week in office.

The Role:

You will play a crucial role in providing assurance and insights into the company's financial risk management, governance, and control processes. Your primary focus will be on financial risks within the life insurance sector, where you will lead and deliver audits across the organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders in areas such as actuarial, finance and accounting, or asset management to ensure robust risk management practices are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and deliver audits focused on financial risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Provide assurance and influential insights into the effectiveness of financial risk management, governance, and control processes.

- Collaborate with stakeholders in actuarial, finance and accounting, or asset management to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies and practices.

- Support the delivery of audit reports and recommendations, ensuring timely follow-up and implementation of management actions.

- Engage in ad-hoc projects that align with the organisation's strategy and objectives.

Knowledge and Experience:

- Professional qualification in Accounting (ACA / ACCA), Chartered Internal Audit (CIIA), or a related discipline.

- Previous audit experience in financial risk within the life insurance sector is essential.

- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: actuarial, finance and accounting, or asset management.

- Strong understanding of financial risk management frameworks and practices.

- Excellent regulatory awareness, with a solid grasp of the impact of regulations on financial risk.
