Operations Executive - Financial Planning

A leading financial planning firm is seeking an Operations Executive to support efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence within their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong project coordination and compliance experience in financial services to contribute to a high-performing environment.

The Role

As an Operations Executive, you will be responsible for coordinating key operational projects, supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, and improving business processes within the financial planning division. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, financial planners, and compliance teams to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of compliance-related projects.
  • Monitor project timelines, track progress, and report on key milestones.
  • Support compliance initiatives by ensuring adherence to FCA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and process documentation for team members.
  • Test and provide feedback on system changes in Iress Xplan following software updates.
  • Liaise with financial planners, compliance teams, and third-party providers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis for compliance and operational reviews.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for project meetings, including preparation of materials and minutes.
  • Act as a key point of contact for project-related queries within the financial planning team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in project coordination or operational support within financial services.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks within wealth management or financial planning.
  • Experience with Iress & Xplan (desirable).
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem-solving and compliance adherence.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software and CRM systems.
  • Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) are a plus but not required.
  • IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Package & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary to £50,000
  • 25 days’ holiday, increasing to 26 after 3 years, 27 after 4 years, and 28 after 5 years
