Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Resources, you will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day finances and ensuring smooth operations across various financial functions.
Key responsibilities of this Charity Finance Manager role include:
- Serving as the vital link between project, research, and human resources departments, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Overseeing contract-based work, including invoicing, timing, and relationship management with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- Managing accruals, prepayments, and overseeing the production of management accounts, with final sign-off responsibilities.
- Collaborating on payroll processes with the Finance Officer and CFO, ensuring accuracy and discussing changes in monthly meetings.
- Taking charge of audit preparations, maintaining accurate records in Excel, and working closely with the Director of Finance during audits to answer Auditor queries.
- Line manage the Finance Officer, providing guidance and support, and managing a flexible working arrangement.

The successful Finance Manager will:
- Be a finalist ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent studier. However, candidates who hold five+ years’ experience in a not-for-profit finance management role will be considered.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of restricted, unrestricted, and charity SORP, along with management accounts and budgeting.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
