VisionFR is helping a firm of architects find a part time Finance Manager. This role will report into the Managing Director. The right candidate will have a holistic approach to finance and believe all aspects of a business should be considered in order to improve efficiency and effective forecasting. They will also have a versatile attitude as there will be opportunities to grow the role in a variety of directions.

Responsibilities of the part time Finance Manager

  • Producing management accounts (balance sheet, income statement, budget analysis and KPIs).
  • Producing accounts bookkeeping function.
  • Overseeing external payroll consultant, workplace pension, employee benefit schemes and insurance policies.
  • Providing accountant auditors with account reconciliations and liaising with them regarding year end.
  • Ensuring practice is in line with all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Monitoring bank accounts and cash flow forecasts ensuring directors are well informed of cash implications of decisions.
  • Producing and monitoring company budgets, investigating cost-reduction opportunities, in collaboration with Managing Director.
  • Managing financial systems;
  • Managing debtors list and assisting Directors in debt recovery process.
  • Project finance including, profit monitoring, fee proposals, income forecasting, revenue recognition and benchmarking.
  • Assist Managing Director in Formulating strategic and long-term financial business plans, including analysing change and advising accordingly.
  • Researching market trends and other factors influencing business performance.
  • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk.
  • Tailoring reports to increase clarity and suit the creative nature of the management team.
  • Training employees on financial processes and regularly communicating company's financial position to ensure everyone is invested in the company's goals.
  • Updating old processes, researching software in the market and implementing when beneficial.
  • Implementing project management software including; working directly with the provider (Noveos) to ensure the system is tailored to the business’s needs, testing reports and, regularly liaising with internal project managers
  • Monitoring job performance and producing performance-related analysis.
  • Producing financial and strategic analysis to aid high-level business decisions.
  • Assisting the Directors with contract and fee reviewing

  • Monitoring our sub-consultants against competent consultants requirements
  • Managing and inputting to policy updates
  • Insurances renewals
  • Licence renewals

Skills/Experience of part-time Finance Manager

  • Experience of working as a sole role Finance Manager
  • Experience of Sage or similar
  • Noveos will be an advantage but training will be given
  • Overseeing payroll
  • Health & Safety
  • Experience Preparing Management Accounts
  • An experienced bookkeeper
  • Good communication skills
