About the RoleAs a Payment Operations Manager, you will lead and optimise the firm’s payment operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all transactions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with regulatory standards while driving process improvements to enhance efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payment process, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Develop and implement robust controls and processes to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a team responsible for payment operations, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective measures where necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, compliance, and IT, to improve systems and processes.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as banks and payment service providers, ensuring service levels are met.
  • Analyse payment trends and performance metrics, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and remain updated on changes in payment regulations and technologies.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Professional qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is desirable.
  • Proven experience in payment operations or a related role, ideally within the professional services or legal sector.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, banking processes, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant financial systems and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
