A Top 40 Accounting Practice located in the heart of the city near Bank station are recruiting for a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager

This is a great opportunity to join an established Firm that delivers expert support and advisory services to their Tax, Audit, Accounting and Financial Planning clients. They are a relationship driven team that focus on delivering a quality, personalised service and building long-term relationships. This is primarily a compliance role which will involve a high percentage of non-UK domicile cases. Running a portfolio which is a mix of complex returns as a case-handler and more straight-forward cases as the acting manager. The role will also involve assisting on the delivery of advisory work.

Key duties include:

  • Responsibility for a mixed portfolio of personal tax clients, including specifically non-doms and HNWIs.
  • Assisting managers/directors/partners on the delivery of advisory work, which will include the preparation of reports on matters such as IHT planning, residence, pre arrival planning, offshore trusts and planning in anticipation of the new rules for non-doms.
  • Preparation and attendance at both existing and potential new client meetings, and ensuring the work is carried out in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Responsible for collating all the information needed to prepare the tax return involving liaising with other third-party professionals and on some occasions the clients themselves.
  • Must be technically competent in dealing with all aspects of income tax (including National Insurance) and capital gains tax.
  • Will be responsible for the preparation of the tax returns for approval by the client and for then electronically filing them.
  • Promptly dealing with routine correspondence received in connection with those clients.
  • Ad-hoc assignments in connection with the client's affairs - incorporating inheritance tax, income tax and capital gains tax.
  • Assisting with s9A enquiries and preparing disclosures under the digital disclosure facility.
  • Must be able to prioritise and organise own work to ensure consistently high standard of client care and to meet Revenue deadlines - working without supervision and to show initiative in dealing with clients' affairs.
  • Responsible for monitoring own time budgets and chargeability.

Particular aptitudes / skills required:

  • CTA Qualified
  • Minimum of 4 years private client tax experience
