Private Client Tax Manager - London

Up to £75,000

Role SummaryA mixed compliance and advisory role, focusing on non-UK domiciled cases. The role involves managing a portfolio of compliance clients, supporting private client partners with advisory work, and overseeing staff management and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including non-doms, HNWIs, sole traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts.
  • Supporting partners with advisory projects, including IHT planning, residence issues, pre-arrival planning, and offshore structures.
  • Preparing and attending client meetings, setting budgets, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Liaising with clients on inheritance tax, income tax, capital gains tax, and related matters.
  • Corresponding with HMRC on enquiries and disclosures under the digital disclosure facility.
  • Overseeing tax return preparation and reviewing staff-prepared returns for approval and filing.
  • Managing routine correspondence, organising workloads to meet deadlines, and ensuring excellent client care.
  • Monitoring billing, chargeability, and time budgets, and contributing to internal management meetings and business development.

Qualifications & Skills

  • CTA qualification (minimum).
  • At least 5 years' experience in private client tax, with expertise in non-doms and offshore structures.
  • Strong client-facing skills and confidence in meetings.
