Private Client Tax Manager (With advisory experience) Central London £65,000 - £72,000Butler Rose Public Practice and delighted to be partnering with our client a well-known and established firm of chartered accountants that are now eager to appoint a highly skilled, experienced, and ambitious Tax Manager to take responsibility for the existing Private Client tax team in their London office. Role Responsibilities -* Provide support to partners and directors in the effective running of the team and in winning new work. * Managing a portfolio, consisting of a mix of clients with multiple sources of earned and investment income. * Driving the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio. * Dealing with advisory assignments. * A key point of contact for the client. * Dealing with large partnerships and high net worth individuals. * Dealing with a wide range of capital gains tax issues. * Overseeing the UK tax return filling process for a broad variety of clients. * Monitoring team progress against targets. * Providing feedback and giving input into staff appraisals, as well as direct responsibility for appraising staff. * Monitor progress and encourage the personal development of all team members. * Ability to produce work to a high standard. Person Requirements -* ATT & CTA Qualified with significant private client tax experience (OMBs, HNWIs, non-residents, non-domiciles, partnerships, trusts) to include an advanced understanding of core private client tax issues, including personal tax anti-avoidance legislation. * Ability to confidently interact with the HMRC regarding complex issues on behalf of clients. * Deliver advice confidently in transactional, litigious, or confrontational circumstances. * Report on tax and other implications of incorporation of self-employment and businesses. * Experience in Self-Assessment and preparation of tax computations. * Demonstrable experience of report writing and ad hoc advisory work. * Previous supervisory and management experience including reviewing the work of others. * Planning for mitigation of Inheritance Tax including use of trusts and tax effect of lifetime transfers. * Dealing with enquiries into all aspects of direct taxation including experience of settlement and penalty negotiation.
