An iconic public sector organisation are currently recruiting a Finance Manager for an initial 6 month contract to support on a project within DDaT.

The role will be based in South London and will offer a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days on site per week.

The offered rate for this role is £500 per day umbrella (inside IR35) and ideally they would like a qualified accountant with business partnering skills.

The successful candidate will need to undergo SC (security check) vetting so it wont be an immediate start. Holding active SC clearance would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Produce consolidated reports including budget, actual spend and forecasts
  • Complete month end tasks in a timely manner, including accruals and journals when required
  • Provide guidance and insight at budget holder meetings and boards
  • Ensure key stakeholders are regularly updated on all financial issues
  • Own, translate and analyse financial data
  • Provide financial evidence to support business activities and requirements
  • Support the creation and updating of business cases and strategic documentation
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Set up activity codes when necessary

The ideal candidate

  • Full CCAB (or equivalent) qualification with up to date CPD
  • Proven ability to communicate and adapt styles of communication across all ranks, roles and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with different organisations and to work alongside others
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative way to meet the needs of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to deliver to agreed deadlines
  • Proven ability to provide and deliver briefings and presentations
  • An interest in promoting positive improvement and helping the organisation to adapt to new ways of working
  • Understanding of the public sector and/or other sectors within the business that impact on the organisation’s change programmes
