We are recruiting for a Reporting Officer to join our client’s (a law enforcement agency) Portfolio Management Office overseeing change activity across the policing network.

This role is based London with travel to various office. Hybrid working arrangements in place.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly portfolio oversight, reporting and insights, bringing together risk and issues, benefits and planning inputs that give a meaningful and collective narrative of the portfolio’s delivery status and inform decision making by senior leaders
  • Work with the colleagues to ensure consistent use of reporting and analysis tools and governance across the portfolio, embedding good practice techniques and standards
  • Work closely with the PfO leadership team, programme managers and stakeholders (including enabling functions) to develop innovative, relevant, timely and accurate reporting and analysis, delivering meaningful insights and challenge
  • Lead long term development and continuous improvement of reporting and analysis capability, ensuring it is supported by people who have the required skills, experience and motivation to do their roles effectively
  • Lead the Secretariat Function for the Portfolio Office
  • Manage an effective and timely Secretariat, ensuring the timely preparation of agenda and papers, the end-the-end process of business cases, and preparation of minutes and follow up of actions
  • Lead long term development and continuous improvement of the Secretariat, liaising with HQ Secretariat as necessary
  • Ensure delivery of reporting and analysis outputs and deliverables

Skills and Experience:

  • Program and Project Management: Strong understanding of program and project management principles.
  • Data and Narrative Synthesis: Ability to analyse data, identify key narratives, and communicate the strategic picture.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of information and challenge senior stakeholders when necessary.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Work collaboratively with colleagues and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Methodical and Strategic Thinking: Balance methodical discipline with strategic thinking to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality reports.
  • Comfort with Numbers and Data: Ability to handle and interpret data comfortably.
  • Resilience and Articulation: Resilience to push back when necessary and articulate in influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Management: Oversee a PMO employee responsible for minute-taking, action follow-ups, and document management.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • P3O Certification (Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices): Practitioner and/or recognised industry equivalent qualification. Experience within the industry may also be considered
  • Prince 2 Foundation
  • MSP Foundation

Desirable:

  • Project Planning & Control: Foundation
  • Management of Risk (M_O_R): Foundation

This is a temporary role for an initial 6 months, working full-time paying between £500 - £600 per day Umbrella (inside IR35). A PAYE equivalent is also available.
