This client is a leading American law firm with 20 offices around the globe employing over 1200 lawyers. The London office is their European hub and is a vibrant and busy place to work.
They are currently hiring a Revenue Manager; the Manager is responsible for managing the working capital cycle of all London and Brussels practice groups. Manages the Revenue team and works directly with the Finance Director to promote efficiency and improve client service. Additionally, the Manager will take on special projects and revenue assignments from the Finance Director, COO and /or the Managing partner.
Responsibilities
- Manages all phases of the inventory cycle; Overseeing WIP and AR and working with the Revenue Team to ensure timely processing and follow up.
- Personally, and through the team, responsible for achieving specific targets such as monthly billing/collections, ageing targets and lock-up period reduction goals.
- Managing the credit control function; Target setting and billing/collection, drive management.
- Regular face-to-face meetings with Partners to understand their WIP and AR balances particularly to establish timing and amounts of cash collections.
- Maintains and circulates adequate records of communications with partners on WIP and AR movements and actions arising from meetings and conversations.
- The Revenue Manager is the main point of contact for resolving complex Billing and VAT queries.
- Manages all phases of the e-billing cycle; liaising with clients, vendors and the New Yorke-Billing Hub ; ensuring bills are submitted and rejections resolved in a timely manner.
- The Revenue Manager also processes bills, e-bills and chases cash collections when necessary.
- Conducts a regular review of disbursement and fee credits and ensures timely reconciliation.
- Works with the AP team to resolve unallocated cash payment issues as required.
- Production of reports and statistical information as required.
- Ensures all bills are checked for numerical accuracy and compliance with all relevant VAT and SAR guidelines.
- Providing High level monthly updates to management,
- Work with New York to help deliver the effective implementation of a firm-wide revenue policies and system amendments/upgrades.
- Regular review and management of internal procedures and controls and regulatory compliance; Ensure compliance to regulatory legislation including VAT, Solicitor’s Accounts Rules and Money Laundering regulations.
- Conducts regular meetings with the Revenue Team on departmental performance to ensure targets are communicated and achieved internally.
- Training and developing staff, updating training manuals, carrying out appraisals and manage recruitment process on departmental vacancies.
- Works directly with the auditors during annual visits for revenue testing and coordinates related assignments amongst the team.
- Submissions of the Quarterly EU Sales List.
- Conduct inductions for new legal employees and arrange follow-ups where required.
- Review and analysis of billing rates and agreements.
Candidate Profile
- Experience using 3E is desirable
- Previous experience in professional services is essential, preferably within a law firm
- A-C (or equivalent) Maths and English, GCSE grades
- Prepared to use initiative and heavily customer focused
- A team player who is well organised, has excellent attention to detail and recognises the importance of completing work to a very high standard
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible to deal with changing requirements and timescaies and keen to take on responsibility
- Computer literate (Excel, Word)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to prioritise and multi task
- High level of confidentiality working in a professional environment
- Taking responsibility and being accountable for work performed
