Redimeer are recruiting for a Risk Manager to join a fintech business based in London. The ideal candidate will come from a compliance background. Below are all the details of the role.

About The Role: Responsibilities and tasks included in the role are as follows:

Credit Risk

• Works in collaboration with the Sales Team and provide initial credit screening and pre-credit approval of prospective clients.

• Ensures credit info packs for prospective clients are prepared and circulated in a timely manner.

• Makes credit recommendations to the Credit Committee.

• Maintains Credit Committee minutes and records.

• Liaises with credit insurance partners to obtain insurance limits for relevant prospective clients.

• Helps ensure the company’s credit insurance exposure is managed by ensuring that all communications with the credit insurance partners are performed in a timely manner.

• Helps maintain credit risk settings on Salesforce in accordance with Credit Committee decisions.

• Supports the monitoring activities of approved clients including review of monthly management information and monitoring of repayments.

Operational Risk

• Improves, monitors, and tests the companies processes and systems to ensure they meet the aims of the board, in particular testing new releases/functionalities in Salesforce.

• Works with other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential operational risk exposure, including potential vulnerabilities to fraud, payment errors, incorrect document handling, non-compliance with credit insurance terms etc.

• Helps ensure that client legal documentation is correctly prepared.

Conduct Risk

• Helps define and reinforce the companies policies with respect to:

o Employee conduct.

o Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions and KYC.

o Transparency around the sharing of risk information and intelligence, particularly where such information may result in a negative credit assessment.

• The Risk Manager has a duty and responsibility to report any breeches of the above to the Head of Risk or the Chairman of the Credit Committee.

Market Risk

• Helps monitor key trends in the companies target markets (construction, manufacturing etc.).

• Helps monitor external market risks and events that may impact the company (regulation, changes in legislation, credit appetite from senior funders, etc.). General

• Supports the board in its implementation, review and approval of the enterprise-wide risk governance framework which includes the company’s risk culture, risk appetite, risk assessment system and risk limits.

• Provides best practice ideas for continual improvement by representing the client at appropriate networking events, conferences, training courses, etc.

• Influences and, when necessary, challenges material risk decisions

Mandatory Requirements:

• Several years’ experience working in credit assessment.

• Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Requirements:

• Background in eCommerce.

• Ability to speak French and assess French financial statements.
