Are you a skilled finance professional with a passion for driving sustainable financial solutions in the public sector? We are seeking an experienced Safety Valve Finance Business Partner to lead the financial management of our Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) Safety Valve programme.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with senior management to deliver robust financial strategies, achieve savings targets, and support the effective management of the High Needs budget. You will play a crucial part in monitoring and reporting on DSG financial performance, ensuring compliance, and contributing to long-term financial recovery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial management and reporting for the DSG Safety Valve programme.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver financial strategies and meet savings targets.
  • Oversee the High Needs budget, ensuring effective monitoring and allocation.
  • Provide expert advice on SEND funding mechanisms and financial recovery plans.
  • Support the implementation of the Safety Valve programme to improve financial sustainability.

Key Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a finance business partner role, preferably within local government or the public sector.
  • In-depth understanding of DSG High Needs budget monitoring and SEND funding mechanisms.
  • Proven experience with the Safety Valve programme or similar financial recovery initiatives in a public sector context.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
