Purpose of role:

As a Senior Commercial Account Handler, you will play a crucial role in providing a comprehensive insurance service to both existing and potential new clients. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction, business growth, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage and administer a commercial insurance portfolio, ensuring meticulous compliance and cost-effectiveness in all transactions.
  • Proactively identify and convert growth opportunities through referrals, cross-selling, new client acquisition, and proactive sales initiatives, driving business expansion.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, insurers, and service providers, fostering trust and collaboration to deliver exceptional service.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within a team environment, leveraging collective expertise for the benefit of clients and the business.
  • Provide new business quotations promptly, offering relevant advice, information, and guidance to clients.
  • Promptly execute client instructions, ensuring timely commencement of cover, completion of paperwork, premium collection, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Work with Account Executives to strategise renewal approaches, identify cross-sale opportunities, and negotiate with underwriters for optimal client outcomes.
  • Offer timely renewals of existing client policies with current or new insurers as appropriate, conducting thorough document checks and diary management.
  • Maintain up-to-date client records on the company's electronic filing system, adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Identify, plan, and achieve cross-sale opportunities while providing risk management advice and prevention information to clients, collaborating with insurers.
  • Provide clients with support during claims processes, offering guidance and assistance throughout.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts function as needed, assisting in credit control activities with relevant customers.
  • Accompany Account Executives on client visits when necessary, acting as a referral point for day-to-day requests.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role with comprehensive knowledge of insurance classes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities, particularly proficient over the phone.
  • Capability to work efficiently under pressure and adeptly prioritize workload.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management proficiencies.
  • Demonstrated ability as a team player with a determined drive to succeed.
  • Possession of negotiation skills.
  • Consistently operates compliantly with a sound understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • IT literate with proficiency in client systems and Microsoft packages.
  • Ideally qualified to Cert CII level or willing to attain this with support from the business.
  • Acturis System Experience:
  • Past familiarity with the Acturis computer system preferred (not mandatory).
