This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to drive financial performance and provide expert financial leadership in a purpose-driven organisation.
The Role:
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis and strategic support to key stakeholders You will ensure that financial management processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with the organisation’s long-term goals. This role will be central to improving financial decision-making and fostering a culture of accountability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality financial advice, insight, and reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Lead on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support effective decision-making.
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations, including the Academy Trust Handbook.
- Oversee financial procedures related to procurement, invoicing, and payroll reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements.
- Support and train non-finance staff in financial processes to enhance overall financial literacy.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including auditors, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.
- Contribute to the organisation’s strategic financial planning and risk management framework.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to finance staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
About You:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in financial management, business partnering, and strategic planning.
- Experience working in the Education sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and influence key decisions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance professionals.
- Experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and financial risk.
- Knowledge of PS Financials or similar accounting software is desirable.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and financial efficiency.
