About the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join a prestigious university on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This critical role requires an immediate start and is ideal for a seasoned finance professional with a strong public sector background.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide expert financial insight, enabling strategic decision-making and ensuring robust financial management across the university's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic financial support and analysis.
- Lead on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for designated departments or faculties.
- Deliver accurate and insightful management reports, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance against financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with public sector financial regulations and best practices.
- Support the delivery of financial efficiency projects and initiatives to enhance value for money.
- Work collaboratively with non-financial stakeholders to enhance financial literacy and embed a culture of financial accountability.
- Manage ad-hoc financial queries and projects, providing timely and effective solutions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or similar role, ideally within the public sector or higher education.
- Strong knowledge of public sector financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Proficient in financial systems and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
