About the client
This Local Authority based outside of London is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the financial management of their Adult Social Care services
Accountabilities
- Ensure the requirements of the Council's financial strategy are met
- Ensure robust financial management, assisting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for Adult Social Care
- Deputise for the Head of Finance, representing the finance team in key meetings and decision-making processes
- Respond to information requests quickly and accurately
- Provide financial reports for departmental meetings as required
- Draft the financial implications for reports to members and directors
- Provide specialist technical advice relating to their areas of responsibility
- Undertake financial appraisals of planned service changes, identifying any significant financial implications
- Evaluate legislative and policy changes and assess the financial impact on the service
Candidate Requirements
- Possess an accounting qualification
- Strong experience in financial management within Adult Social Care in local government (E)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Line management experience is desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
