Role Overview:
As a Senior Finance Officer, you'll oversee and manage critical purchase and sales ledger processes, take the lead on cash book matters, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play an integral role in ensuring smooth operations across the Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Oversee accurate data entry for suppliers and invoices, including managing input by others.
- Resolve staff and supplier queries promptly, ensuring responses within one working day.
- Ensure purchase order procedures are followed and commitments are accurately tracked.
- Review supplier statements, reconcile accounts, and prepare BACS payments for approval.
Accounts Receivable:
- Manage staff to ensure accurate sales ledger data entry and timely customer payments.
- Monitor debt collection, pursue overdue accounts, and provide support to budget holders.
Cash Book Management:
- Monitor bank transactions, perform monthly reconciliations, and maintain accurate records.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar finance role, with exposure to accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations.
- Previous management experience.
- AAT qualification or substantial progress towards AAT
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and supervise a team.
- A proactive problem-solver who communicates effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Evidence of commitment to own continuous professional development
