Senior Risk and Controls Specialist- FinTech- £65,000-£85,000 + Bonus, Pension and Equity Possibilities- Central London (Hybrid)- ACA/ACCA/CPA 

IN2 Consult is partnering with a global FinTech Client on the recruitment of a senior  Finance Risk and Control Specialist to join their team. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Finance functions, focusing on documenting and assessing end-to-end product workflows to address financial reporting risks. Candidates with a background in audit or financial services, particularly within fintech, will thrive in our dynamic environment, where attention to detail and proactive problem-solving are key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and Document Risks: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and document financial risks across various business units.
  • Process Mapping and Analysis: Develop comprehensive views of customer flow control processes, illustrating critical risks, controls, and financial impacts on group statements.
  • Independent Control Testing: Conduct assessments of controls, identify potential gaps, and initiate remediation where necessary.
  • Partner with Risk Leads: Work closely with Finance Risk and Control Leads to confirm identified gaps and drive meaningful improvements.
  • Build Cross-Functional Partnerships: Liaise with both finance and non-finance teams to address and enhance financial reporting controls. Building effective relationships across teams is key to achieving our objectives.
  • Support Control Automation: Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to refine control designs, focusing on automation for efficiency.
  • Audit Coordination: Facilitate internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and insights into financial controls.
  • Monitor Compliance: Track Finance Risk and Control findings, ensuring that audit actions are addressed promptly and comprehensively.
Preferred Background
  • Professional Credentials: ACA or equivalent certification with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Audit/Financial Services Expertise: A strong background in audit, financial services, or fintech, especially with experience managing audit fieldwork and high-volume transactions.
  • Client-Focused in Audit Context: Experience as the primary client contact in audit or control engagements, managing complex client queries and engagements.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: A willingness to take ownership, tackle challenges head-on, and resolve issues independently.
  • Balanced Approach to Risk and Growth: A nuanced understanding of balancing risk and control to enable sustainable growth.
