This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the risk management function of a leading global insurance group. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, providing independent review and challenge of strategy, processes, governance, and controls. What you'll do:As a Senior Risk Manager, your role will be pivotal in supporting a range of risk management activities. You will be instrumental in building relationships with key stakeholders across various business areas such as Underwriting, Operations, and Finance. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the Risk Management Framework and ensuring it effectively identifies, assesses, and reports on risks. You will also provide valuable input into the ORSA process, promoting its use as a tool for informed risk-based decision making. Your role will involve supporting deep dives into various risk areas across the business and assisting in the review and maintenance of risk appetite and tolerance frameworks.

  • Build relationships with stakeholders in Underwriting, Operations, Finance, and other areas of the business to understand their priorities and risk issues
  • Provide independent review and challenge of strategy, processes, governance, and controls
  • Maintain the Risk Management Framework to ensure it provides an appropriate structure to identify, assess and report on risks
  • Provide input into the ORSA to promote its use as a value add report that supports and informs risk-based decision making
  • Support deep dives and risk opinions across a range of risk areas across the business
  • Support various risk management activities, including risk identification, monitoring and reporting
  • Support the review and maintenance of risk appetite and tolerance frameworks

What you bring:As a Senior Risk Manager, you bring strong analytical skills honed over several years of experience in risk management frameworks and processes. Your ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally will be essential in this role. You possess gravitas and are comfortable holding your own in meetings with senior stakeholders. Any experience you may have in Project Risk Management, Exposure Risk Management, Stress and Scenario Testing, ESG Risk Management or ORSA processes would be highly beneficial.

  • Relevant degree / professional qualifications
  • Risk management experience within an insurance organisation
  • Insurance industry experience is essential
  • Experience across risk reporting, risk appetite and risk & controls self-assessment (RCSA)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Several years of experience in risk management frameworks and processes
  • Ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbally
  • Gravitas and ability to hold your own in meetings with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in Project Risk Management, Exposure Risk Management, Stress and Scenario Testing, ESG Risk Management or ORSA processes would be beneficial
