Role Responsibilities
  • Managing a client portfolio, ensuring strong relationships across departments and maintaining a deep commercial understanding of your clients’ businesses
  • Taking full ownership of client relationships, with minimal oversight from the Tax Lead
  • Driving the firm’s strategy by promoting values, encouraging innovation, and bringing new ideas for team learning and development
  • Leading recruitment processes and participating in annual review meetings as an appraiser
  • Setting client fees and budgets, managing profitability, and driving growth within your client portfolio year on year
  • Reviewing corporate tax and LLP partnership tax returns across a range of industries
  • Managing and reviewing large Non-Resident Corporate Landlords portfolios, including capital allowance claims and R&D tax credits
  • Preparing complex tax returns and considering the impact of changes in legislation, including Corporate Interest Restriction rules
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and drafting proposals for client consideration
  • Leading tax due diligence projects, liaising with HMRC on tax enquiries, and attending client meetings
  • Mentoring and developing junior staff, contributing to their growth and the team’s success
  • Managing billing, budgets, WIP, and ensuring the smooth running of the team
  • Contributing to the firm’s marketing strategy, producing content for the website and offering suggestions for client communications

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Strong corporate tax compliance and advisory skills, with experience in a mid- to top-tier accountancy practice
  • Experience managing a diverse client portfolio, including Non-Resident Corporate Landlords and property tax matters
  • Familiarity with international tax issues, such as corporate residency and permanent establishments
  • Proven track record in identifying tax planning opportunities and delivering high-quality client service
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and CCH software
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to manage WIP, budgets, and drive profitability
