Tax Advisory Assistant Manager / Manager Top 15 Firm, London OfficeUp to £80,000!!!
The role will focus on the delivery of a wide range of tax advisory work to entrepreneurs. This work would involve supporting business owners, from a personal and corporate perspective, from incorporation through to a life post-exit.
The role would involve working directly for tax partners and directors, but the candidate would be encouraged to build their own relationships with both clients and other internal non-tax partners and to work collaboratively with other colleagues in London and regional offices and to work closely with the Corporate Finance team.
The responsibilities:
- Advising companies on structuring their funding rounds to meet the requirements of Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).
- Working with client management teams to design and implement employee incentive schemes to retain key employees.
- Advising client management teams and shareholders on business disposals and acquisitions.
- Review of share purchase agreements, tax covenants and tax disclosure letters in connection with business acquisitions and disposals.
- Advising on and assisting with the implementation of corporate reorganisations such as capital reduction demergers, share buybacks and management buyouts.
- Review the inheritance tax exposure of corporate structures, and advise/implement any solutions to reduce the inheritance tax exposure.
- Pre and post exit advising entrepreneurs on intergenerational wealth planning, such as preparing reports on family investment companies or tax efficient investments.
- Undertaking tax valuations for employee share incentive schemes, gifting of shares as a result of generational wealth planning, probate, and corporate reconstructions.
- Preparing HMRC statutory and non-statutory clearance applications.
- Liaising with tax compliance teams on follow-up compliance work arising from transactions.
You:
The role would suit an ACA/CTA qualified person with some post qualification experience in private client tax, corporate tax, and tax valuations. Although some experience in these areas is desirable it is not essential. A willingness to learn and a keen desire to become involved in new areas being the key.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- An ability to provide advice and solutions to technical tax queries and interpret technical matters of varying complexity and communicate this information clearly to clients and other team members.
- Prepare advisory reports and correspondence on complex/technical tax matters.
- Strong UK tax technical skills and understanding (or a willingness to undertake the CTA if you are ACA qualified).
- Project management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor budgets.
- Provide feedback on the progress of work to those involved including clients, colleagues, and other advisers, keeping them informed of developments.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Client focus and commercially aware.
- Commitment to building strong client relationship management with ability to develop quality outputs to clients.
- Excellent communicator, both written and oral, in a range of situations and to a range of stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day responsibility for projects.
- Some practical experience of accounting standards and knowledge of accounts is essential.
