In-House Corporate Tax Manager

Up to £85,000 - London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced In-House Corporate Tax Manager to join a dynamic UK-based team, reporting directly to the UK Tax Director. This role is a key position within the finance department, providing hands-on involvement in the full spectrum of UK direct tax compliance. You'll be instrumental in managing everything from tax accounting to submission to HMRC, while also expanding your expertise in broader tax areas.

This position offers excellent scope for professional development, including exposure to international tax planning, transfer pricing, and thin capitalisation. You will have the chance to make a tangible impact on the business while deepening your knowledge of UK and global tax frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Corporate Tax Compliance:
    • Oversee UK corporate tax returns, claims, and elections to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare UK Statutory Accounts:
    • Assist in preparing statutory financial accounts in line with UK GAAP, ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Stay Ahead of Legislation:
    • Keep the company compliant with the latest UK tax laws, adapting processes as legislation evolves.
  • Tax Forecasting:
    • Support quarterly tax forecasting under UK GAAP, working closely with finance teams to ensure accurate projections.
  • Respond to HMRC Enquiries:
    • Work proactively with HMRC to manage queries and ensure smooth communication.
  • International Tax Planning:
    • Participate in international tax strategies, including thin capitalisation and transfer pricing.
  • Oversee Taxed Award Schemes & PAYE Settlement Agreements:
    • Manage and report on Taxed Award Schemes and PAYE Settlement Agreements to meet UK tax obligations.
What You Bring:
  • ACA or CTA Qualified:
    • You're a highly skilled professional, holding ACA or CTA qualifications.
  • Corporate Tax Expertise:
    • Extensive experience with UK corporate tax compliance and a deep understanding of tax accounting standards, including UK GAAP, IFRS, and FRS101.
  • Alphatax Proficiency:
    • Confident with Alphatax software for tax computations.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills:
    • You're a natural communicator, both written and verbal, able to articulate complex tax matters clearly.
  • Self-Motivated & Collaborative:
    • A self-starter with the ability to challenge constructively, while thriving as part of a close-knit team.
