Tax Manager | Luxury Hotel brand | £75,000-£80,000 plus bonus | Central London (hybrid working ) | Permanent role

An internationally renowned Luxury Hotel Group is looking to hire a Tax Manager on a permanent basis. Based in their European Headquarters in London (hybrid working), you will be reporting to the VP of Finance and working as part of the senior leadership team.

You will be responsible for managing the direct and indirect taxes for the UK as well as overseeing the tax in European jurisdictions, predominantly France and Spain. You will have extensive stakeholder interaction including exposure to working with the senior management team of the group head office and will have the opportunity to build out the tax team in line with the company’s growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of the UK tax compliance including management of corporation tax across 20 entities and management of the VAT returns across the entities
  • Manage the consolidation of the group tax provision
  • Ownership of the tax year-end provisions and annual reporting
  • Liaising with stakeholders internally and externally for tax-related queries and changes in tax legislation and ensure systems and processes are updated accordingly
  • Support with advising the business on the implications of key transactions, change initiatives, and expansion decisions of the Group
  • Supporting with specific tax-related projects including managing the tax implications on changes to the ERP system and supporting the business from a tax perspective on launches internationally
  • Ownership of the transfer pricing agreement for the business
  • Attend meetings with senior stakeholders in the group to report on any tax-related matters

Skill set required:

The business is looking for a CTA Qualified Tax Manager with experience working in industry and extensive UK tax knowledge. You will have both direct and non-direct tax experience and will ideally have some exposure to dealing with the tax for European entities. Strong transfer pricing knowledge is essential as is IFRS knowledge. Experience working in the retail, property, or hospitality sector is beneficial but not essential. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to lead the tax function, working closely with senior stakeholders across the group.
