The client are a global hospitality and catering group (hotels) that are looking or a Tax Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The head offices are based in the West End of London (Kensington) and Singapore, and the role will report directly to the VP of Finance. The successful candidate will be the sole-Tax person in the group and will have the chance to build a team in the future.

Client Details

The client are a global multi-national hotel group with over 130 sites across the globe. They are looking for a Tax Manager to lead up their tax department. The role will work very closely with the VP of Finance and they are looking for an experienced candidate to oversee all tax compliance and reporting. You will be working with a number of different people across the finance team, and they are keen on a candidate with experience across both practice and industry (in Tax roles).

Description

The successful Tax Manager will:

Compliance

  • Prepare, review and submit corporate tax computations and returns for all UK companies, including compliance with the CFC legislation.
  • Maintain a tax status risk registers for all UK companies.
  • Deal with CTSA administration including statutory claims and elections, treaty applications etc.
  • Prepared and submit VAT and other UK tax forms.
  • Fulfil other on-going tax compliance obligations.
  • Country by country reporting .

Reporting

  • Consolidate the Group tax provision (corporation & deferred tax) and other information needed for disclosure purposes in the consolidated group accounts.
  • Calculate the year-end tax provisions, prepare tax disclosure notes for annual report and statutory accounts for individual UK companies and analyse and comment on trends.
  • Prepare a report for the Board on the quarterly ETR, cash tax position, tax provision etc. with commentary on the trends on a country by country basis.
  • Review, recommend and implement changes to the year-end reporting process including putting in controls and processes as required.

Other

  • Manage on-going projects and provide tax input into planned projects.
  • Lead and take ownership of all tax matters and projects including relating to regulatory changes/reviews.
  • Work with business units and provide tax input to upgrades existing and new accounting systems.
  • Update tax policies within the Group.
  • Liaise with HMRC on tax queries.
  • Group tax exercise where required.

Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Relevant post qualification experience of managing the compliance and tax reporting.
  • Qualified CTA.
  • ACCA/ACA qualification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience working within a Tax role in a hotel business (desirable, not essential).
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK Corporation Tax.
  • Very good understanding of the tax accounting and reporting, statutory and regulatory framework under IFRS and FRS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
