Job Title: (Temporary) Head of Decision Support

Our client, a leading consumer business is looking for a Head of Decision Support for a 6 month assignment. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for supporting the Group deliver its commercial strategy through objective financial and strategic analysis. Starting ASAP.


Description

The duties and responsibilities for this Head of Decision Support role include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and presentation of analytical material to inform strategic financial decisions across the whole business.
  • Lead financial analysis of potential new ventures/initiatives, investment/divestment and business development opportunities.
  • Lead the ROI process on business initiatives during the strategic planning cycle and support Senior Management to develop and implement the strategy.
  • Lead Budgeting/Forecasting and modelling process.
  • Responsible for Pricing Modelling to help inform pricing strategy for the future.
  • Support the CFO and wider leadership in driving the financial sustainability of the organisation.
  • Influence the decision making at Board level through presenting coherent, thought provoking and reasoned analysis.
  • Proactively providing insight to improve the financial and operational performance of the organisation through the use of wider market knowledge, and data insights and manipulation.


Skills

The skills and experience required for this Head of Decision Support role include but are not limited to:

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 2-4 years PQE.
  • Experience in leading teams and direct line management.
  • Experienced in handling very diverse and complex issues (e.g. modelling and strategic analysis) and critique innovative solutions.
  • Proven ability to present persuasively and coherently to senior management and influence decisions.
  • Ability to work across professional boundaries and influence teams throughout the organisation.
  • Willingness to develop technical skills to support business where relevant eg. Power BI / data visualisation.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to understand and interpret trends in financial data.
  • Financial modelling, Discounted Cash Flow and Net Present Value experience.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and data tools.
