Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Third Party/Operational Risk Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team responsible for the second line oversight of the end-to-end Third Party Management process. The successful candidate will have the chance to refine risk methodologies, perform root cause analyses of identified risk events, and facilitate the identification of issues and related corrective action plans.

What you'll do:

As a Third Party/Operational Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Operational Risk- TPRM team by being responsible for the review and challenge of the implementation and operational sustainability of the TPM process. You will be expected to have subject-matter-expertise (SME) of the TPRM regulations and industry best practice. Your role will involve working closely with first line business units ensuring third party risk and control inventory is articulated in accordance with Risk Framework. You will also be involved in strategic tasks such as monitoring framework adherence, developing tools, communicating requirements to key stakeholders, and participating in business project workstreams.

  • Support refinements to the TPRM risk methodology.
  • Perform root cause analyses of identified risk events.
  • Review/challenge Design and Operating Effectiveness testing end-to-end key controls.
  • Facilitate identification and articulation of Issues and related Corrective Action Plans.
  • Monitor Framework adherence and develop tools/communicate requirements to key stakeholders.
  • Participate as part of business project workstreams to provide ORM subject matter expertise.
  • Work with business units to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities.
  • Act as stakeholders' main point of contact representing ORM.

The ideal candidate for this Third Party/Operational Risk Manager position brings a wealth of experience from a professional services organization or a financial institution covering Operational Risk Management. You should have contributed significantly to the development or oversight of risk management frameworks, particularly in relation to Third Party Risk Management. Your understanding of regulatory expectations for third party management will be crucial in this role. You should possess excellent report writing and presentation skills, coupled with investigative and analytical thinking. Your ability to work independently, creatively assess and identify gaps, and present solutions will be highly valued.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/economics or law degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-8 years of experience in a professional services organization or a financial institution covering Operational Risk Management.
  • Experience in contributing to the development or oversight of risk management frameworks.
