Our client is seeking a skilled VP, Credit Manager to join their London team. This role involves managing the corporate Food & Beverage portfolio, with potential to cover sectors like Consumer, Healthcare, TMT, and Leverage Finance. You'll collaborate with teams across Front Office and Risk, engaging with senior colleagues. What you'll do:

As a VP, Credit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the corporate Food & Beverage portfolio while also having the opportunity to cover other sectors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include reviewing credit applications, making informed decisions within the firm's risk appetite, engaging proactively with front line on deal-specific or strategic developments. You will be expected to identify any potential risks or breaches of internal guidelines and escalate them appropriately. Furthermore, you will represent the credit division at internal forums within the region and support strategic initiatives.

  • Review credit applications received and make recommendations to senior management on transaction specific files.
  • Monitor the portfolio in line with internal policies and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Make balanced, timely and thoughtful credit decisions within the firm's risk appetite.
  • Engage proactively with front line on deal specific or strategic developments through guidance, direction, feedback.
  • Identify red flags or breaches of internal guidelines and policies and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Develop knowledge of various types of industries, sectors, countries, players and financial and legal structures within Leverage Finance, TMT and Consumer & Healthcare.
  • Represent the credit division at internal forums within the region.
  • Support strategic initiatives.

What you bring:

The ideal VP, Credit Manager candidate brings strong knowledge of corporate credit analysis, accounting, legal/documentation along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Your analytic and quantitative skills are top-notch which enables you to make balanced decisions. You are capable of fully owning/managing the 2nd line challenge and approval process on new deals for your portfolio. You have a solid understanding of the sector and credits within your portfolio and a working understanding of the key credit policies, processes and frameworks of the bank.

  • Strong knowledge of corporate credit analysis, accounting, legal/documentation, and the corporate lending marketplace in EMEA.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytic and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to fully own/manage the 2nd line challenge and approval process on new deals for the portfolio within their responsibility.
  • Solid understanding of the sector and credits within their portfolio.
  • Solid working understanding of the key credit policies, processes and frameworks of the bank.
