H9 Technical are hiring a Vice President with Renewable Energy Finance experience to join the Structured Finance team in London. As a mid-level Vice President, you will play a key role in originating, structuring, and executing renewable energy transactions, including project financing, M&A advisory, and capital raising activities across various markets

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Origination & Execution:

  • Lead and support the origination, structuring, and execution of complex financing solutions for renewable energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage)
  • Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and risk analysis to assess the viability and profitability of projects.
  • Manage transaction processes, including client negotiations, credit approvals, documentation, and closing

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including project developers, sponsors, investors and government agencies.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing strategic financial advice and presenting tailored solutions that meet their business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships and cross-sell services, such as advisory, treasury, and capital markets products

Market and Industry Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze trends in the renewable energy sector, including regulatory developments, emerging technologies and market dynamics.
  • Work with the internal research team to provide insights and develop strategies to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and clients, ensuring they remain a market leader in renewable energy finance

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff (Associates and Analysts) in financial modeling, industry research and transaction management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including credit risk, legal, and compliance, to ensure smooth execution of transactions and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist senior management in developing and implementing strategies to grow the renewable energy finance portfolio

Qualifications:

  • BSc Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • An advanced degree (MBA or MS in Finance) or CFA designation is a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in renewable energy finance, project finance, or investment banking, with a focus on the energy sector
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with experience in structuring complex transactions.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy financing structures, such as tax equity, PPA agreements and regulatory frameworks.
