Financial Planner

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Salary: £70,000 per annum, plus 2 x discretionary annual bonuses and superb benefits

Working Arrangement: hybrid, 5 days per week Monday to Friday.

About the role as Financial Planner:

Our reputable client, based in Canary Wharf, is seeking a motivated Financial Planner to join their expanding Private Client Advice group. This hybrid role involves providing in-person, telephone, and written financial advice to existing clients, making it a diverse and dynamic position within a growing team.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Planner:

As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for offering regulated financial advice to over 7,500 existing UK clients. Reporting directly to a Private Client Advice Team Leader, you will typically work with a range of financial products, including:

  • Pensions and Retirement Planning: Advising on pension contributions, carry forward strategies, lifetime allowance (LTA) planning, and drawdown options.
  • Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning: Helping clients to effectively plan their estates and manage inheritance tax implications.
  • Tax-Efficient Cash Flow Strategies: Utilizing cash-flow analyses to develop efficient financial strategies for clients.
  • Investment Optimization: Reviewing the suitability of investment wrappers and advising on General Investment Accounts, ISAs, investment bonds (both onshore and offshore), and trusts.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Education: University graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Qualifications:
  • Level 4 qualified - Diploma in Financial Planning/Regulated Financial Planning is essential.
  • Level 6/Chartered status is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience and Knowledge:
  • A strong desire to provide high-quality advice and service to clients.
  • Detailed knowledge of Inheritance Tax Planning and Defined Contribution pensions.
  • Ability to manage complexity and coordinate across multiple departments under strict deadlines.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Ability to engage and connect with a wide range of audiences through phone and email.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
