City & Capital are currently assisting a highly respected & fast growing commercial property finance lender who have retained our services to appoint an ambitious & confident Junior Relationship Manager to their growing team at an exciting time.

Our client is set to double the size of its loan book over the coming 12 -18 months which will see a huge increase in the number of borrowers active with the firm. The arriving RM will work within the portfolio management team with a core focus on supporting borrowers with their queries & further borrowing requirements.

Our client offers a broad range of loans targeted at property developers & investors. This includes bridging finance, development exit loans, BTL and commercial term mortgages.

Ultimately, as Junior RM you will be a key point of contact for existing borrowers and will work 'hand in hand' with the loan portfolio management team to drive success. The loan portfolio management team will keep you informed of borrower updates and opportunities, as they arise.

Duties will include (but may not be limited to):

  • Key point of contact for existing borrowers
  • Engage with and grow relationships with new borrowers of the lender
  • Actively monitor the performance of client loans and portfolios
  • Ensure all loans are performing and flag early warning signs wherever required
  • Deliver relevant borrower and portfolio reports, as and where required
  • Undertake regular meetings and reviews with clients in terms of loan performance
  • Proactively identify opportunities for new lending, in line with client projects
  • Maintain & maximise a clear pipeline of future borrowing opportunities for existing clients
  • Proactively identify opportunities to restructure existing loans, to better suit the client
  • Proactively identify opportunities for portfolio lending, where clients growth is clear
  • Undertake an initial loan viability assessment on new lending requirements
  • Make recommendation on loan entries & exits, utilising the range of property loans available
  • Maintain & grow existing relationships through exceptional relationship management
  • Attend relevant industry events and shows

The ideal individual for this role will be an excellent communicator and comfortable when discussing property finance loans with existing borrowers. You will be proactive in your approach, quick to spot opportunities or problems, ready to capitalise or resolve them respectively.

You will also be ambitious, as well as keen to learn and hungry to grow. Our client has already doubled in size four times in the last four years and operate an exceptional promote from within policy that has been a huge reason for their success to date. Experience & Personality Traits:

  • Prior lending experience within the commercial real estate or mortgage markets preferred
  • Experience of managing existing property borrowers & loan performance preferred
  • A good unerstanding of credit/risk principles would be highly beneficial
  • Target driven and success orientated
  • Highly proactive, quick to spot opportunities or issues before the arise, ready to address
  • Strategic in approach, can manage both short term opportunities & long term pipeline
  • A self-starter, confident in building the relevant processes & strategy for best results
  • An excellent relationship manager with a demonstrable track record of success

Our client is ideally looking to pay up to c£50k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, though higher offers may be considered for the ideal individual. This will be complemented by an excellent uncapped bonus structure that will reward you for your performance. This bonus is obtained on the basis of supporting existing borrowers to achieve new loans with the company and is likely to offer an OTE of c£65k-£70k per year.
