Technical Paraplanner / Trainee Financial Planner

A well-regarded Wealth Management business is seeking a Technical Paraplanner with the potential to transition into an advisory role within 12 months to two years. The position offers complete flexibility, with options to be based in Croydon, Newbury, or fully remote.

About the Opportunity

The firm has recently acquired a new business, resulting in a large influx of leads from GPP schemes. These clients, many of whom have not previously received advice, fall into the ultra-high-net-worth category, with assets under management (AUM) ranging from £5-20 million.

The Role

This position involves supporting two Chartered Financial Planners with high-level paraplanning responsibilities, primarily focused on pensions and investments. The role is designed to evolve into an advisory position, providing a clear pathway for professional growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparing and analysing detailed financial planning reports, including pension and investment advice, for UHNW clients.
  • Undertaking technical research to support high-quality client outcomes.
  • Supporting the preparation of cash flow analyses and financial models to underpin client recommendations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of client meetings and attending these alongside the Financial Planners to gain hands-on experience.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with all standards.
  • Collaborating with Financial Planners to develop tailored, holistic financial plans.

Candidate Profile

  • Chartered or actively working towards Chartered status.
  • Strong technical knowledge in pensions and investments.
  • Ambitious and eager to transition into an advisory role within two years.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
