The Opportunity

My client is a highly successful Financial Adviser who has recently started their own boutique independent practice, and now needs to recruit a competent, technically skilled diploma qualified paraplanner to provide 100% support to her and her longstanding clients. As a boutique business the role will be fully remotely based with monthly team meetings and periodic training sessions in the City of London. This represents an excellent opportunity for an established and confident Paraplanner to work autonomously and provide an excellent service to the practice’s clients.

The Role

As the Paraplanner, duties will include (but not be limited to):

Conducting research based on meeting clients’ financial needs and objectives

Understanding investment portfolio analysis

Compiling investment/pension/protection illustrations and documentation

Creating and preparing technical suitability reports

Ensuring FCA regulations and compliance are met

Supporting with ad hoc projects and tasks where required

Reviewing and understanding existing scheme information from providers.

Using research tools / systems to complete detailed analysis

Cashflow modelling

Complying with the relevant compliance, TCF, T&C and, financial crime (anti-money laundering, data security, anti-bribery, fraud and corruption) procedures of the firm at all times

About you:

As an experienced Paraplanner you will possess:

Proven experience in a paraplanning role preferably in an independent/whole of market practice however consideration will be given to candidates from restricted environments.

Qualified to a minimum of level 4 Diploma standard

Overall knowledge of key areas of financial planning and advice - Pensions (including switching and pension sharing orders), Investments, IHT and Estate planning and personal and business protection.

The ability to understand and interpret a cash flow forecast and summarise the key points

An understanding of writing styles, grammar, punctuation, avoidance of jargon and an understanding of the audience

The ability to interpret complex planning into clear and concise reports

Understand and apply FCA suitability requirements

Excellent Word and Excel skills

Essentially the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised, and to always have the clients’ best interests in mind in all aspects of the role
