Personal Advisor (Leaving Care) **

We are working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the Peckham area who are looking for a Personal Advisor to work within the Leaving Care Service.

Contract:

  • Contract Length: 6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
  • Pay Rate: 19+ per hour (negotiable depending on your experience).
  • Locations: Peckham, SE15. (Hybrid working)
  • Working Hours: 36 Hours per week.
  • Start date: ASAP.

Role Responsibilities;

  • A Personal Advisor is required for the Leaving Care Service working with young adults aged 18-25 years of age.
  • You will be working with a range of young people aged 18-25.
  • Your work will carry you across the UK, although mostly in or around Southwark.
  • We have some young people who are enrolled in university, they might not live in London. Others might not want to live in the borough, so have relocated to other parts of the UK.
  • Understanding how to support care leavers who might have experiences of Domestic Abuse, Exploitation, gang affiliation, substance misuse, mental health (to name a few) is key to working successfully.

About The Role:

  • Support and enable young people who are currently in care, and those who have left care and are eligible for leaving care services, to make a successful transition to adulthood through practical and planned interventions.
  • Provide a comprehensive and effective service, within Southwark's practice framework, assessing need, and planning and working purposefully with young people.
  • Support our young people, their networks and professionals, to manage risk, safeguard young people, and promote positive outcomes.
  • Provide a service which is relationship-based and works collaboratively with our young people, centred around our young people, and which responds in a timely manner within statutory guidelines, working collaboratively with the team.

Essential Candidates:

  • Experience working within the Leaving Care Service.
  • Local Authority / Public Sector experience.
