This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Customer Account Lead, playing a vital role in delivering excellent service to residents, managing accounts, reducing arrears, and maximizing income.

You will bring knowledge of the arrears lifecycle and demonstrate the ability to proactively assess residents' needs and find solutions in complex situations. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of accounts in a fast-paced income collection environment, from new tenancies to initiating legal action for rent arrears. You'll work with tenants to resolve debt through referrals, payment arrangements, and regular communication via phone and writing. Strong decision-making skills will be essential to refer cases to court for possession proceedings, ensuring adherence to pre-court protocols and income policies.

Customer Account Leads must be resourceful, organized, and able to prioritize effectively. They will excel in teamwork, with strong listening, questioning, influencing, and negotiation skills to support residents and colleagues. Collaboration and communication are critical to building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective solutions for residents.

  • Customer Service: Experience of providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced challenging environment. Demonstrable experience of dealing with customers sensitively in challenging circumstances
  • Arrears Management: Experience of working across the full arrear’s lifecycle and a knowledge of welfare benefits
  • Problem Solving: Skills and experience to make reasoned decisions, from a range of solutions, based on professional judgement
  • Organisation and Time Management: Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and able to effectively prioritise workload
  • Team Working: Able to work with and communicate with colleagues across the organisation in order to find holistic solutions to challenges that might arise across the arrear’s lifecycle
