Due to expansion within their Real Estate team, a new position for a Real Estate SME Trading Lead Underwriter has arisen.
Your new roleYour new role as a SME Trading Lead Underwriter means you will be building and maintaining relationships day to day with Brokers for a new e-trade Acturis product working with the Director of SME to continually develop ideas to improve efficiencies and profitability whilst delivering a good service.
Duties will include being a referral point for technical and trading queries from Brokers, trading with Brokers to drive GWP, achieving agreed service levels for both internal and external customers and maintaining and sharing knowledge amongst colleagues of the Insurance Market specifically Property Owners and the e-trade market.
Other duties will also include underwriting referrals from Commercial SME brokers within appetite and authority limits. Be involved in key projects such as product development, large loss reviews, breach reports, portfolio management and flood scrutiny. You will also maintain an accurate audit trail and review claims trends, case referrals and voidences to recommend product improvements.
What you'll need to succeedYour previous experience of Underwriting Property Owners/Real Estate e trade business or work as an Account handler underwriting Property Owners risks under a Binder. You will navigate external and internal challenges and ensure delivery of targets, be proactive and focused on delivering market leading services and understand where value creates opportunity and deliver consistently. You will be able to quickly identify challenges and opportunities, work in a team in a fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude with motivation to learn, be driven, ambitious and resilient and be a keen problem solver with an eye for detail. You will have excellent communication and strong trading skills, time management and organisational skills, telephone manner and customer service skills.
