Opportunity:
Are you an Ecologist who wants to do their part to push nature positive solutions for the betterment of the planet? If so, our latest London based Senior Ecologist vacancy could be the job for you, our client is a leading international firm that provides its services to services within the sustainability sector, focusing on project management, design and construction. As the new Senior Ecologist, you'll be the first new face in the companies Ecology department expansion brought on by continuous growth as a result of strong relationships with a wide variety of clients, meaning you'll be working on engaging projects across multiple sectors. The role also offers a clear path to progression, with the opportunity to progress to a Team Lead if successful and taking on line managing responsibilities on larger company projects.
Responsibility:
As the new Senior Ecologist in the department, one of your main objectives will be supporting the Ecology team in a range of areas, including the preparation and undertaking of surveys and data analysis, completion and review of both yours and your team members technical reports including BNG assessments and EcIAs and with project management of small to medium sized projects. On top of your field and report writing skills, you'll also be expected to speak on behalf of the business, liaising with regulators, NGOs and other key stakeholders, prepare tenders for proposals and support active business development by developing new and existing relationships with future and current clients. Finally, as a Senior Ecologist, you'll be expected to act as a point of support and mentor for more junior members of the Ecological team, fostering their continued growth within the company.
Requirements:
The successful Senior Ecologist candidate will need to meet as many of the following criteria as possible:
- At least 6 years of experience within an Ecological Consultancy Environment.
- Strong experience with a variety of surveys, assessments and technical reports.
- Full understanding of UK policy framework with experience in habitat surveys and/or ECoW work.
- At a minimum an Associate CIEEM member - advantageous if full Member or Chartered.
- Possess a full UK drivers' license and ideally access to your own vehicle.
- Desirable - Protected Species Licenses and License Documentation, Team/Line and/or Project Management experience.
