Our Client is a full service commercial law firm based in London’s legal district. They have more than 60 partners and over 300 employees. The Finance department is made up of a central management team, Cashiers, Billing and Credit Control teams.

They are looking for a Legal Cashier, the successful candidate will have cashiering experience gained within a law firm or other professional services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of client and/or office account payments
  • Processing client and/or office account receipts
  • Processing transfers between client and office account
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations and/or peer review of reconciliations
  • Preparation and processing of foreign payments
  • Processing foreign supplier invoices via Corpay
  • Processing disbursements made using Precision Pay/Credit Cards
  • Processing, payment and reconciliation of disbursements including Counsel and Experts Fees, foreign and UK disbursement payments
  • Posting and checking recharges and items such as couriers, Companies House fees and taxi fares
  • Dealing with disbursement write offs
  • Making amendments to clients and matters in line with anti-money laundering regulations
  • Dealing with client residual balances
  • Closure of client matters in line with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
  • Petty cash postings and reconciliations
  • Preparation of client interest calculations

Candidate Profile

  • An in-depth knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules to ensure compliance with the regulations
  • Preferably a knowledge and experience of windows-based packages such as Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Proficient using Excel
  • Excellent numeracy skills, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of VAT recovery processes
  • Experience in a Cashier’s, Finance or Legal environment desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of billing and/or credit control desirable but not essential
