We are delighted to be working with a multi-award-winning relocation and storage company based in Middlesex. They carry out over 1,000 domestic and commercial moves across London each year, handling everything from one-bedroom flats to large mansions.

Their services extend to complex business relocations, storage solutions, school removals, office moves, and international shipping.

As they continue to grow, they are now looking for a Removal & Warehouse Assistant to join their team. This role is perfect for someone with warehouse experience, forklift operation skills, and a proactive mindset.

You will play a key role in supporting the Removal & Warehouse Manager by directing crews, managing warehouse operations, and overseeing fleet and yard management.

This is a hands-on position that involves a mix of forklift operation (60%), administration (20%), and general warehouse tasks (20%). Previous experience in a warehouse, removals, logistics, or similar operational environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

Warehousing:

  • Direct and carry out warehousing activities, including receiving and unloading shipments, maintaining inventory, and processing records.
  • Operate forklifts to move and organise client containers and raw materials.
  • Verify pricing, quantities, and item numbers for received goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data in company systems and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth deliveries and shipments.
  • Oversee warehouse activities during the morning dispatch of all crews, ensuring yard control and fleet preparation.
  • Conduct monthly stock checks and report findings to the accounts team.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations within the warehouse environment.

Operations:

  • Assist in the morning briefing and dispatch of all moving crews.
  • Support with crew planning administration, including scheduling, invoicing, and purchase order generation.
  • Monitor fleet management, ensuring vehicles are correctly loaded, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Identify and implement efficiency and service improvements in warehouse and operations.
  • Mentor and supervise crew members, ensuring high performance, training, and service quality.
  • Work with HR to manage absence, performance issues, and documentation compliance.
  • Assist the Removal & Warehouse Manager with annual audits (BAR and Health & Safety).

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, removals, logistics, or similar operational environment.
  • Forklift certification (D1 Reach Licence preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing policies, inventory management, and stock control.
  • Proficiency in basic administrative tasks, including purchase orders and reporting.
  • Good communication and leadership skills, with experience directing teams.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-moving operational setting.
  • Physically fit—capable of lifting heavy items and handling warehouse equipment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 100 pounds (45kg) occasionally, 50 pounds (22kg) frequently, and 20 pounds (9kg) regularly.
