Warehouse/Forklift Operative

  • Job Type: Full-time, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 7am to 4pm, 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm

We are seeking a Warehouse/Forklift Operative to join our team at a newly opened site. This role is ideal for someone who is physically fit, organised, and proficient in using a computerised system for managing stock. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various tasks including manual handling, using a forklift, and maintaining the warehouse.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Moving Materials: Using a forklift to transport goods and pallets around the warehouse.
  • Loading and Unloading: Picking, packing, checking, and loading products onto and off trailers and into designated areas.
  • Stacking: Stacking loads in the correct storage bays.
  • Following Instructions: Adhering to written instructions and health and safety regulations.
  • Keeping Records: Maintaining accurate procurement records and reporting any issues.
  • Communicating: Effectively communicating with team members.
  • Keeping Clean: Ensuring the warehouse surroundings are kept clean and tidy.
  • Organising: Setting up systems such as spreadsheets to keep track of stock locations within the warehouse.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role, with proficiency in using a forklift.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
  • Proficient in using computerised systems for checking orders and managing deliveries.
  • Confident in booking in and out stock and following the required processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, especially during periods with varying workload.
  • Good communication skills.
