Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Import/Export Operations Agent.

As an Import-Export Agent for my client, you will play a crucial role in facilitating international shipments in support of Life Scientists around the world. Coordinating a wide range of time-critical Imports/Exports and ensuring compliance with international customs and transport regulations

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and present quotes for Air consignments of temperature-sensitive biological & pharmaceutical shipments in support of Life Science research.
  • To provide verbal and written communication Customer Service support to complete assigned tasks and bookings within agreed timescales.
  • To ensure data & security integrity of both Customer information is always controlled.
  • Co-ordinate all modes of transport with both UK & Overseas internal and external partners.
  • Prepare & co-ordinate all forms of freight documentation including airwaybills, Shipping Certificates, Health Certificates, Import & Export Licenses, Customs Entry Documentation and any other supporting shipping documentation.
  • To work with all types of cargo and all necessary associated tasks.
  • To undertake any training courses required to understand and complete tasks.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics , International Trade, or related suitable experience.
  • Desired skills include knowledge of Customs, trade agreements, tariff INCO Terms, and basic computer software applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 / Teams / SCOPE / SAMSARA software preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Air (International Air Transportation Association (IATA)) and Sea freight and Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Excellent Customer service skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills, willingness to learn and adapt.
