About the role - 2ic Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages
We are currently recruiting for Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, who will be Second in charge in the department and can bring commitment and expertise to the school’s curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages. You would be supported in your professional development whatever your stage of teaching career.
You would join a well-established team and successful Language Department and would be required to teach German up to KS5 as well as French up to KS4. The ability to teach Spanish at any Key Stage would also be desirable, but not essential. All students learn French from Year 7 and then some can learn a second language in year 8.Â
The school has a strong double linguist’s programme with excellent results. They are looking for someone with enthusiasm, vision, resilience and strong interpersonal skills. The languages department is a centre of excellence, and you would be joining a strong, committed team.

The successful candidate for the 2ic Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages role will be:
•   A Highly motivated and inspirational classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge
•   Committed to maximising pupil progress through setting high standards and by delivering effective teaching and learning
•   Able to motivate, lead, support and challenge students to be successful
•   Must have QTS
•   Can teach German, French & Spanish from KS3 through to KS4 – ideally KS5 tooÂ
•   Are motivated by strong moral purpose and ambition for every single student
•   Are passionate about MFL subject specialismÂ
•   Are genuinely committed to teamwork
•   Have a willingness to develop and implement new approaches to teaching and learning
•   Have substance and credibility as a teacher
•   Ambition to progress through the school
