We are currently partnering with a Legal firm, who predominantly work with Local Government clients, who are recruiting for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their team on a temporary six-month basis.
This role is looking to start w/c 27th January on a full-time basis. The role is fully remote with a flexible rate that is negotiable dependant on experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Undertaking a caseload of Adult Social Care matters working in a sole capacity
- Providing detailed and accurate advice on the Clients responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Mental Health Act 1983
- Providing legal advice and support across a broad range of areas including Ordinary Residence, safeguarding, provider failure S117 aftercare
- Submitting applications to the Court of Protection and high Court e.g COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, DOL, S21a challenges, JR and inherent jurisdiction
- No advocacy required, purely coming in to assist with the caseload
Experience required:
- Previous experience working within Local Government or Legal Firm with local government clients
- Be able to undertake and manage a large caseload of Adult Social Care matters
- To undertake all of the responsibilities with minimal managerial support and able to work in a sole capacity
- Must be a qualified solicitor
Working hours:
- Full time (37 hours a week)
- Monday to Friday but can offer condensed hours
