Job Context
To lead the day to day management and quality assurance of the arboriculture services contract, including administration, performance monitoring, liaison with users and contractors to ensure that services are delivered for residents. To provide technical advice to the Council on matters relating to tree-related insurance claims, conservation areas and tree preservation orders, tree protection and retention on development sites and legal requirements in relation to dangerous trees.

- Supervise the performance of contractors and volunteers, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Conduct inspections, monitor the health of trees, and oversee contractor work to enhance the local green environment.
- Manage tree-related insurance claims and develop strategies for tree retention and protection in various contexts.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including the public, elected officials, and external bodies, to promote transparency and service delivery.
- Prepare detailed reports on performance metrics and support the Tree and Woodland strategy initiatives.
- Strong background in arboriculture or related fields
- Proven experience in contract management and performance monitoring
- Knowledge of tree preservation legislation and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork
- Experience working within a local government environment
- Familiarity with tree management software and data recording systems
- Previous involvement in community-oriented projects
- Specialist tree management software
