Description
The key responsibilities for the role of Assistant Accountant (Part time) include:
- Manage month-end processes, reconcile key control accounts, and ensure VAT and statutory compliance.
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, cost vs. budget analysis, and provide actionable insights to Directors.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, accurate payment, and record maintenance.
- Handle payment processing for payroll, tax, and operational expenses, while maintaining accurate bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Directors, budget holders, and auditors while addressing financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Profile
The successful candidate for the role of Assistant Accountant (Part time) will have:
- Part or fully qualified AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA with at least 5 years of accountancy/finance experience.
- Strong accounting knowledge, proficiency in Sage 50, advanced Excel skills
- Experience in accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
