About the Role:

As Attendance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high levels of student attendance. You will be responsible for monitoring, tracking, and reporting on student attendance, liaising with parents, and ensuring that children who are absent are supported appropriately. You will work closely with the pastoral team, school leadership, and outside agencies to promote regular school attendance and remove barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance, ensuring all records are up to date and accurate.

  • Follow up on absences, communicating with parents and guardians to address any attendance concerns.

  • Implement attendance strategies to improve punctuality and regular attendance.

  • Collaborate with staff to identify and support students facing challenges related to attendance.

  • Prepare regular attendance reports for school leadership and external agencies as needed.

  • Promote a positive attendance culture across the school community.

About You:

  • School based Attendance officer or administrative experience

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with parents, children, and staff.

  • A proactive, organised, and empathetic approach to supporting students and families.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding and attendance policies is a bonus, but training will be provided.
