Are you looking for a new challenge working with children who struggle to adapt to a schooling environment?

We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced Behaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistant to join one of our leading SEN Secondary school located in South London and make a meaningful impact on the lives of the students in year 7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with classroom teachers and special education professionals to support students with challenging behaviour ranging from ASD and ADHD
  • Working in the inclusion unit within a Mainstream School
  • Implement behaviour intervention plans and strategies to address individual student needs.
  • Using different types of Behaviour Handling Approaches.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field (not mandatory)
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support.
  • Understand different behaviour scenarios
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive school culture.
